PAWPRINTS

We recently helped The Winery at Wolf Creek transition their printed newsletter to an email newsletter. The design is inspired by their existing online presence for the sake of brand cohesion, but subscribers will still find familiar elements that were retained from the printed version.

The full newsletter can be read here.

BEAUTIFUL CSS TYPOGRAPHY

We’re big advocates of using cascading style sheets (CSS) for styling the content of the websites we build. Using a style sheet makes changing the way your site looks much easier to do, as all of the style information is contained in one text file. While CSS has its limitations, it’s been used in very creative ways to date, and with newer versions of web browsers, more options are becoming available all the time.

10 Examples of Beautiful CSS Typography and How They Did It... is a nice showcase of what’s currently being done with CSS type design by a few innovative web designers. Take a look and be inspired!

NEW WORK

We recently created a graphic for the wastewater division of Orrville Public Utilities to help celebrate their 100 years of service to the community. This followed on the heels of updates we made to the main utilities site’s menus, which enhanced client-side editing capabilities and significantly increased page load times.

A MAP OF THE BLOGOSPHERE

The larger, more dense area of the graph represents socio-political discussion.

In this image, we are looking at the core of the blogosphere. The dark edges show the reciprocal links (where A has cited B and B has cited A), the lighter edges indicate a-reciprocal links. The larger, denser area of the graph is that part of the blogosphere generally characterised by socio-political discussion (the periphery contains some topical groupings). Above and to the left is that area of the blogosphere concerned with technical discussion and gadgetry.

From the work of Matthew Hurst of Microsoft’s Live Labs, co-creator of Blogpulse, from which the data for this image was derived.
